South Africa Recognized the Halal Standards Committee’s Certification!

The Halal Standards Committee of DUM RT continues to strengthen international cooperation. As part of this initiative, an important mutual recognition agreement was reached with the South African National Halal Authority (SANHA), the largest halal certification body in South Africa since 1996. SANHA certificates are recognized in over 41 countries.
This agreement allows halal-certified producers from Tatarstan to export their goods to South Africa. Previously, the committee obtained accreditation from the Gulf Accreditation Centre (GAC), which certifies compliance in the Gulf region.
In 2022, the trade volume of agricultural products between Russia and South Africa increased by 30.3%, reaching $488.1 million. Russian exports grew 3.4 times, amounting to $98.7 million.
In 2017, a South African delegation visited the Republic of Tatarstan twice, discussing cooperation with KAMAZ and the Kazan Helicopter Plant and later exploring educational collaboration with Innopolis University and the IT Park. Russia and South Africa also maintain a visa-free regime, fostering business and economic ties at regional levels.
The recognition of the DUM RT Committee’s certification by SANHA simplifies exports for Russian manufacturers and strengthens their international presence, further expanding the reach of halal-certified Russian companies abroad.
