Malaysian Delegation Visited the Russian Islamic Institute

The Russian Islamic Institute (RII) welcomed a delegation from Malaysia led by Mohammad Zamri bin Mohammad Shafiq, Head of the International Halal Governance Council at Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM).

During their visit, the guests toured the institute, visited the library and the Islamic education museum, and held a meeting with RII Rector Rafik Mukhametshin, who presented the university’s activities and its cooperation with Malaysian institutions.

The primary goal of the visit was to evaluate the work of the Halal Standards Committee of DUM RT as part of preparations for accreditation under Malaysian standards. Experts also visited Tatarstan-based enterprises producing halal goods.

This visit marks a significant step toward the international recognition of Tatarstan’s halal certification system and the expansion of collaboration with leading global institutions.
