Halal Committee of DUM RT Gains International Recognition in Jordan
The Halal Committee of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (DUM RT) has officially received recognition in Jordan. This milestone strengthens the Committee’s status as an authoritative certification body and opens new opportunities for Russian and Tatarstan halal product manufacturers.
Jordan as a Strategic Market
Jordan is a significant trading partner and one of the key countries in the Middle East region. Over 90% of the country’s food needs are met through imports. The greatest demand is for grains, meat (beef, lamb, poultry), dairy products, and semi-finished products.
According to foreign trade reviews, Russia is among the top ten suppliers of food products to Jordan. In 2020, Russian exports amounted to 166.9 million USD, with nearly 84% attributed to barley and wheat. Forecasts up to 2030 estimate the potential for increasing exports to 215 million USD, particularly in meat, grains, and oilseeds.
