A Working Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Chairman of the Halal Standard Committee Abbas Kadirov, as a part of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the visiting meeting «Russia — the Islamic World», which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The working visit lasted from 23 to 25 November. The delegation was headed by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The main topic of the meeting, which took place on November 24: «Russia — the Islamic World: a Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation». Three sections worked for the audience: «Russia — the Islamic World: Prospects for the Formation of the New Development Models», «Russia and the Islamic world: a Culture of Tolerance, Ensuring a Dialogue and a Mutual Understanding between the Followers of Different Religions», «The Development of Trade and Economic Ties between Russia and the States of the Islamic World: Challenges and Opportunities».

During the event, the participants discussed the issues and the methods of interaction between Russia and Muslim states in various fields of activity. In particular, the delegates touched the issues of the interfaith dialogue, the development of trade and economic relations between the countries, and also discussed the topic of international security.

During his working visit, Abbas Kadirov talked with the representatives of the GSO. He also took part in a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Jeddah.

Also, according to the program of the working visit, an equally significant event for the delegates took place: the participants made an umrah (a small hajj) in Mecca on November 25.
