The world celebrates – World Accreditation Day!

6 September 2018

June 9 is World Accreditation Day – a global initiative established jointly by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Organization (ILAC) to raise public awareness of the importance of accreditation. The theme of World Accreditation Day 2018 was the role of accreditation in creating a safer world.

Supporting the initiative of international accreditation organizations, Rosaccreditation considers it its duty to popularize the opportunities and the role of the institution of accreditation in the modern world, including taking part in the development and dissemination of information materials of the IAF and ILAC in Russian.

Accreditation is the same worldwide. Products and services that have passed through the standard test procedure can be accepted everywhere with equal confidence if accredited conformity assessment bodies, that is, in turn, have been independently evaluated by an accreditation body for compliance with recognized standards to ensure their integrity, impartiality and competence, were evaluating them.

On the role of accreditation in the development of health and safety infrastructure – in the materials of IAF and ILAC “Accreditation: making the world safer”.
history of the holiday

Two global organizations, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), offered a curious idea for this holiday in 2007. It was a meeting in Sydney, after which a resolution was adopted that established a single day for all who are involved in such a profession. The event was first celebrated in 2008. Today it is celebrated in many countries of the world – Belarus, Russia and Ukraine are not an exception in this list.
