The Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan has discussed cooperation with Fambras Halal

On December 14, the Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin met with a delegation from Brazil led by Fambras Halal President Muhamed Hussein Al-Zaghbi. The delegation included Bassim Ali Al-Zaghbi-the executive director of the company and Nizar al-Gandur-the head of the company’s external relations. The guests were accompanied by the Chairman of the Halal Standard Committee of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan Abbyas Hazrat Shlyaposhnikov.

FAMBRAS HALAL is the largest certification body for halal products and services in Latin America and the first pioneer in the implementation of the halal system in Brazil in accordance with the main international standards. FAMBRAS HALAL is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has branches in Colombia and Paraguay. The company exports products to 185 countries of the world, including the Russian Federation, has accreditation in countries that require certification bodies to pass it. It employs over 1800 employees, in the service market – 43 years.

Kamil Samigullin introduced the guests to the multifaceted activities of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, the peculiarities of the Russian and Tatar ummah, the Tatar-Muslim culture, and the Tatar theological heritage. He told them about the Qur’an “Kazan Basmasy”, the work on the study of the Qur’an, the system of Islamic education in Tatarstan, as well as the activities of the subsidiaries of the Religious Board of Muslims: the “Huzur” Publishing House, the “Waqf RT” Foundation, the “Zakyat” Charitable Foundation, the Halal Standard Committee. The latter aroused the most attention of the delegation. The visitors expressed their interest in cooperation with the Spiritual Muslim Board of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of halal certification, shared their plans on this issue.

Mohammed Hussain Al-Zaghbi told the Mufti about the history of FAMBRAS Halal, its activities and projects, as well as the social significance of halal certification activities, export issues and halal standards. Kamil Hazrat expressed his proposals for initiating partnerships.

The Brazilian delegation highly appreciated the activities of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan in various directions and wished them success in serving the Tatar ummah.

In memory of the meeting, Khazrat Kamil presented the guests with a reprint edition of the Qur’an “Kazan Basmasy”, published on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam in the Volga Bulgaria. The gift will be a reminder of the most important achievement of the Tatar people and their contribution to the development of Muslim culture.
