March 30-31: working visit to the Republic of Senegal

Chairman of the Halal Standards Committee Abbyas Hazrat Shlyaposhnikov, as part of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, took part in the business forum “Tatarstan – Senegal” in Dakar.

The main purpose of the official visit of the Tatarstan delegation was expressed by its leader R. Minnikhanov:

“It is very important for us to find good reliable partners, industry and agriculture are developed in our region, we are ready to work in these areas. In turn, favorable conditions for investors have been created in Senegal and this is a good hub to move on to other West African countries.”

As part of the program of the forum, Abbyas Hazrat Shlyaposhnikov made a presentation at the round table and held a number of working meetings with representatives of Senegal’s business circles.

During the meeting with the Director General of the Senegalese Association for Standardization (Association S?n?galaise de Normalization (ASN) El-Hadj Abdurakhman Ndion, interaction issues were discussed, and a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was concluded between the Senegalese Association for Standardization and the Halal Standard Committee of the MSB RT The parties agreed on cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of Halal standardization and certification, as well as on joint work to expand opportunities in bilateral trade in Halal products between the Republic of Senegal and Tatarstan.

In his speech, at the round table of the business forum “Tatarstan – Senegal”, Abbyas Khazrat outlined the main directions and tasks for the development of the Halal industry in the Republic of Tatarstan. The report noted the significant work and support carried out by the President and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of Halal – the expansion of production and export of Halal products, the introduction of the HALAL LIFE STYLE project at the state level, the integration of Halal principles into various sectors of the economy of Tatarstan: agriculture, food industry, tourism , medicine, IT-technologies.

The Chairman of the Committee also noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tajikistan provide all possible support to the republican producers in Halal products.

“The first steps have already been taken in this direction – food products are being supplied from Tatarstan to the countries of the Arab world. A number of our manufacturing enterprises are now ready to supply their products to the OIC countries,” he added.

At the end of his speech, Hazrat Abbyas invited colleagues from the Republic of Senegal to the exhibition of the halal industry “Russia Halal Expo”, which will be held on May 19-21 at the site of the international economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit”.
