DUM RT Halal Committee Paves the Way for Producers to Enter Kyrgyzstan

During the “2030: Halal Development Strategy” session at KazanForum, a significant memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Halal Standards Committee of DUM RT and the Halal Industry Development Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Almaz Damirbekovich Kairbekov.
The DUM RT Halal Standards Committee has become one of the first officially recognized halal certification bodies in the Kyrgyz Republic. Recently, the country introduced halal standards for imported products, creating new opportunities for collaboration and promoting local producers.
Economic Context of the Partnership
Russia is the leading exporter of agri-food products to Kyrgyzstan. In 2020, Russia accounted for 38% of Kyrgyzstan’s total agro-imports, valued at approximately $250 million USD.
From January to October 2021, trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan grew by 30.1%, reaching 381millionUSD??.RussianexportstoKyrgyzstan??increasedby36.7313 million USD, driven by higher shipments of:
