An Updated Memorandum of the Mutual Understanding was Signed in Kazan
On June 11, 2021, an updated Memorandum of the Mutual Understanding was signed in Kazan between the Halal Standard Committee of the Muslim Religious Board of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Halal International Center for Standardization and Certification under the Muslim Religious Board of the Russian Federation. The document was signed by the heads of the organizations Abbyas Shlyaposhnikov and Aydar Gazizov. The official signing of the document took place at the residence of the Muslim Religious Board of the Republic of Tatarstan in the presence of the Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin and the Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Religious Board of the Russian Federation Rafik Fattakhetdinov.
The Memorandum of the Mutual Understanding was signed with the aim of creating the constructive long-term partnership and with the intention to develop the local Halal industry. The interaction is supposed to be carried out on the basis of mutual trust.
Thus, the Halal Standard Committee and the Halal International Center will interact in organizing joint events and carrying out research work and programs for protection of the rights of consumers of Halal goods etc.
In addition, the text of the Memorandum specifies the procedure for the operation of these two certification bodies on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The document also regulates the issues of mutual exchange of information and documents of interest to both parties.
The Memorandum comes into force from the date of signing.
